Lovecraft

Howard's writing reminds me of... Summer nights and the smell of gasoline. 'At the Mountains of Madness' is one of the flat-out scariest books I've ever read.
I have a number of collections of his writing, ad honestly, all of them are awesome.

Hmmm...maybe I'll check him out sometime...I'm glad you posted the links!

I totally forgot about 'The Picture in the House'...that is an awesome story...I worked in a place like that one summer...bloody unpleasant and creepy pit of a place, made no better by reading lots of Lovecraft when I was on break.

omg whisperer in darkness and music of erich zann are also like my favorites! i also really like "the picture in the house" as well. it was like the first of his stories id ever read<br />

Though honestly, 'The Whisperer in the Darkness' and 'The Music of Erich Zann' are my two favorite tales. ATMoM can be a bit...tedious...needs to be read, but...it can drag a little.

i have yet to read "at the mountains of madness"...rob always urged me to read it but i never did..
