I Love Halloween Costumes
Before someone gets their panties in a twist about this, shut up and read.
I know MODERN DAY thoughts about Halloween is that it is a children's holiday. It is a time when children can dress up and get candy.
But just like Christmas has evolved from a remembrance of the birth of Christ into a commercial gift pressured holiday, Halloween has also evolved.
Halloween for adults has always been fun. This gives adults a legitimate excuse to dress up and be a fantasy character. Yes, there are costume balls, and such but those are boring and nobody really dresses up in their hidden desires at those things.
A real Halloween party is where adults can dress up as they see fit. A stroll down the streets of New York or Chicago will find men dressed in beautiful ball gowns that made them look like they just walked off the set of an opera.
Of course, women are allowed to wear pants whenever we want to so it is no big deal if a woman dresses up as a gangster or some other male character.
Halloween is the only time when a man can dress like a woman without raising too many eyebrows. And if they do, so what, it is just one night. Get over it.
I love seeing people dressed up for Halloween. Little ones, teenagers and adults. It is a fun holiday to step out of yourself and be transformed into someone else.
