There have been years when Amber and I have stayed home for the trick or treaters. Before we moved out into the country, that is.
Now we have another fun thing to do on Halloween.
We call it reverse trick or treat.
We dress up and roam the streets, handing out candy to kids. We get more remarks from kids and parents for that than we ever did being home.
But staying home could be so much fun. One year, I dressed up and had on a mask. When people would come by, they'd think I was a scarecrow until I'd either grab at them or say something.
When someone would stay and chat a minute, Amber would hold a remote control and pretend to control my movements. Until they started away. Then, I'd jump and chase them.
Another year, we had a very dim light on in the garage and had that door open so people had to come into the garage. Where I did all I could to scare them. I had a favorite very dark corner I hid in a lot. :)
