Blast From The Past

A couple of days ago, I turned on the TV the other night to discover Hanson playing on the 90s music/radio channel. It's pretty much been in my head ever since(curse that catchy song!). Anyways, it brought back a lot of memories.

I remember hearing it multiple times during a Carowinds outing with my church youth group. For the longest time, I thought they were the Spice Girls, until I saw the video at some point. It came out in 1997, which made me about 14/15. The beginning of my high school years. Oh, what strange times those were.

Anyways, I looked more into what they've been up to the last 13 years. As an indie ba nd who is most well known for the cheesiest song the 90s could have produced, they're doing pretty well for themselves. Two particular songs I like already - put one up already, may put the other up later. Alot of their music now seems to revolve around curing AIDS in Africa, and a lot of their proceeds go to that cause. It's good they're doing something humanitarian now and have matured, although I can't help but wonder if their efforts are equally as strong for AIDS in the US as well.

But just the same, every time I hear them, I'm going to think of Carowinds and Spice Girls.
