Will Field Marshall Montgomery make it another first at the European Championships at Belfast on the 28th July, if the do it will be their 8th consecutive Championship. The consistancy of performance is outstsanding, of the last 17 Championships they have 13 wins and 4 second places a really remarkable achievement. Scottish Power, Inveraray and District, Boghall and Bathgate, St Laurence O'Toole, Strathclyde Police, Shotts & Dykehead, (each one capable of winning a Championship), are all trying to knock FMM off the top. Unfortunately, I am now unable to go across to Belfast to hear what I am sure will be a cracking European Championship.

So roll on the "Worlds" at Glasgow on the 11th August, when we can add Simon Fraser University previous World Champions into the mix. The only additional ingredient to make it a super day of competition will be some SUNSHINE!

Good luck to all bands competing in Belfast and Glasgow, from Novice Juvenile to Grade 1 and I hope you achieve your best ever performance, and make it really difficult for the Judges!!

I look forward to perhaps seeing you at Dumbarton on 19 May, provided that the weather will be better than last year's downpour. I shall send you a private message nearer the time to arrange, once I know who else will be in attendance.
