Thank You Dad

I love horror movies because i grew up watching them with my dad. We always watched cheesy slasher films like Friday the 13th and Halloween but occasionally we would get some really good films like They Live and The seven doors of death, movies that had a little bit more meaning than a guy in a mask running around killing teenagers. Now whenever i watch certain movies like Tales From the Darkside or The Dentist i think about my father. i have a very extensive collection now that i sometimes watch with my dad, he really likes 80's slasher movies and his favorite is Maniac,. I also really like sci fi, comedy and disney films. Occasionally there will be a drama or something that i will really enjoy and actually like for example Romeo and Juliet by Baz Luhrmann , i really really like that movie im not much of a fan of the Shakespeare dialogue but something about it is really appealing, i also like the entire music score, Horror movies will always be my favorite

I grew up watching the slasher movies of the 80's but I don't like those now.
I like the psychological thrillers like The Grudge. The Japanese make good horror movies.

But my favs are the old ones like Frankenstein, Wolf Man, The Thing etc.....I know the special effects look cheesy now, but they were progressive, for their time.

Awesome, im a fan of the classics as well, and honestly i prefer the special effects from the 80s than the overly cgi'd crap of today

I grew up on horror movies as well, and have to thank my dad for showing me horror/sci fi, and telling me stories of the unknown.
