I Love My HorsesI have four horses, two geldings and two mares. They used to be my brother's horses but he committed suicide, so now now they're my horses. The horses knew he left because they acted like they were depressed when he died, and it was hard to get them to eat or drink and they really didn't want to be ridden. I rode them all the time when my brother was around and I fed them while he was away, but it took them a while to get used to me being their new owner. They warmed up to me again eventually.
I don't know what kind of horses they are, so I just call them grade horses. I ride my horses almost daily, and sometimes I take one or more of my horses in the trailer and go riding with them in the Black Hills. Riding in the mountains is more fun for me and my horses than my dad's rolling farm field with hardly any trees around.
I also love taking my horses swimming, all four of my horses swim. I actually don't swim with them, they do all of the swimming and I do the ride bareback. It's a great way to keep them cool on a hot day.
