not in a materialistic way- a piece of jewelry tells a story or history that can be passed on from generation to generation. I was nine years old when my great grandma died- she left me a ring that she brought with her when she immigrated to this country. Every time i wear it, i am reminded of her and i feel linked to my family i never knew.

    I have a ring from my mother, she got it from her mother and her mother from her mother and so on. I guess no matter how expensive a piece is, what really matters is the sentimental value

    that is such a wonderful story. its nice to appreciate somthing so small in such a big way. one of my aunts died when she was very young, back when my mother was still a child. my grandmother gave me her necklace. its a four leaf clover with a pearl in the center. its beautiful, and even though i never knew my aunt, the necklace always makes me think of who she was and who she may have become.
