ABSOLUTELY Incredible

I am a HUGE fan of Jimi. My dad is too, so i grew up with a lot of his music. He really is just amazing. Words can't even describe. The sort of music you have to shut your eyes to, to really and truly appreciate. It takes me away.
And i watched his performance at the '69 woodstock the other day....Oh my god. What i would give to have been able to be (for starters) alive then, and in that crowd!!! My god. And when he's doing his solos, and he shuts his eyes, opens his mouth, and you can see he is just absolutely in his element.

INCREDIBLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

- I THINK he wrote most of his own songs,too.....................<br />
- His manager, though, Mike Jefferies, was a right money-grabbing BAS****........... God Damn him !!!<br />
LOL

Many times they've asked the Greatest electric guitarists of the world, "Who's the Greatest of All time ?" People such as David Gilmour/Roger Waters/Jimmy Page/Mike Oldfield/Eric Clapton etc etc etc, and the Virtually unananimous answer they get is <br />
"Jimi Hendrix".............................. :)<br />
- I'm just listening to 'the burning of the midnight lamp'............ wow !<br />
Hendrix lives whilever we enjoy his music.................... :)<br />
In a thousand years time, if we havn't blown each other to bits in another stupid, pointless war,<br />
people will still be freakin out to Hendrix............................ :)<br />
Genius is genius- period .......... :)<br />
LOL

haha I totally feel you...I'm 25 and I grew up with both my dad and my older brother listening and imitating Hendrix. My dad was mega into blues and my brother into rock...but they both evovled from that. Anyways, I LOVE Hendrix through and through and I just love that when I listen to his music..I get taken back to childhood memories of sitting on the stairs to our basement and listening with innocent ears to his music...hearing many sounds and ex<x>pressions that adults could not....for me..it just opens up another world. Though my father and brother listened to many artists, his work stands out. Led Zepplin and Black Sabbath stood out too..but not with the soul and spirit of Hendrix. I think the success of his music today with young people is the relevance of the spirituality and the political ex<x>pressions that are still needed today. I LOVE the star spangled banner....with the Iraq War mess right now..who could not? I'm Canadian, and I didn't even really know the words of the American anthem...when I looked them up out of curiosity and read "bombs burstin in air....." I wondered how anyone could listen to such a violent song and still be able to invoke patriotic feelings. Then I listened to the Anthem (as I hadn't since I was so young) and was awe-struck that..not only that this ex<x>pression so hugely impacted American culture...but that it was so long ago. And it's just sad to think that young people were feeling the exact same way about the Vietnam war 40 years ago..and here we are doing it all over again..."And the Wind...SCREAMS ...Mary"
