Little Melissa

Little Melissa was sitting on her grandfather’s lap as he read her a bedtime story. Every now and then she would take her eyes off the book and reach up to touch his wrinkled cheeks. She would then stroke her own cheek, then his again. Melissa then said, “Grandpa, did God make you?”

“Yes he did sweetheart,” he answered. “God made me a long time ago.”

“Oh!”. She paused for a while and then asked “Grandpa, did God make me too?”

“Yes he sure did, sweetness,” Grandpa replied. “God made you just a little while ago.”

Feeling both her face and his face again, Melissa remarked, “God’s getting better at it, isn’t he?”
