The Church Card

There was a Pastor who was very discouraged, as the number of guests that were attending his church was declining each week.
He decided to make a personal visit to each guests' home, and see what was going on.

The Pastor arrived at the first home, and knocked. He could hear shuffling from inside the house, but no one opened the door.

Discouraged he knocked again, a bit louder this time. Again, he could hear shuffling, and saw the blinds move.

The Pastor let out a long sigh...was this an indication on how the rest of the day would be?

So he took out a church card and wrote, "Revelations 3:20, Behold, I stand at the door, and knock."

The next Sunday he stood on the platform, watching as the offering was taken up. The ushers handed him the plate, and right on top was the card with the verse written on it. Promptly he picked it up.

The verse he had written was crossed off, and Genesis 3:10 was written below it.

Quickly, the Pastor grabbed his Bible and looked up the verse, "I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself."
