Have Since I First Heard It

I first heard Latin music I think when I was about 8 or so. This was the era when Latin music was really growing in popularity & entering the mainstream.

When I first heard it, I guess I liked how new & exotic it sounded to me. I like the melody, the rhythm, the instrumentation & the lyrics - even if I couldn't understand Spanish. I still like it even today, as I do with many forms of world music.

Nowadays though when I hear Latin music, it often takes me back to that time when I was 8 or 9 & hearing it for the first time. Not that I'm complaining. Latin music after all is a great thing to listen to.

Some of my favorites are Los Lobos, Santana and lots of Cumbia by various artists.

It's hard to say. There's quite a few to choose from. I've always been a fan of Enrique Iglesias & Ricky Martin. I also like Cheyenne, Santana & Bio Ritmo :-) Do you have any favourites?
