Long Live Python!!! I've Been A Fan Since Childhood...

I've been a Python fan since childhood... late 70s I think? FYI: For those born after 1990, this was an era when cavemen and dinosaurs roamed the earth (yet not at the same time ). The internet did exist, however it was used primarily by govt. employees (namely academic and military).

Ok, enough of the history lesson!

Either my dad or stepdad tuned me in to Python's silliness. I always thought (the only American in the troupe) Terry Gilliam's animations were waaaaaaay cool... how can they mix cartoons w/ live footage like that? When I saw Holy Grail for the first time, my mind was blown. After watching bits and pieces of all those unfunny BBC "Britcoms" from the 60s and 70s (which are still broadcast on PBS to pacify old donors), I wondered how in the world can these guys be so funny?? I mean, they're British, too! Except Terry of course.

I was too young to comprehend all the truly-brilliant-yet-so-controversial satire in Life of Brian, yet grew to appreciate it in adulthood.
If you haven't seen this film, you must! Don't be a lumberjack, do it now!

To this day I still remember seeing the "wink wink nudge nudge" scene for the first time in Completely Different. Brilliant, simply brilliant!

About the same time, I also discovered a certain character who was the focal point of his own British sci-fi series. His name? I think you know it already... The Doctor. However, that will be another story. ;)
