Crazy Heart

Everyone has commented on Jeff Bridges acting performance in Crazy Heart, but I thougth the character was a bit overdrawn.  He was so disgusting at times that it was hard to understand what Maggie Gyllenhaal saw in him.  Nevertheless, it is a good movie albeit somewhat disturbing at times.  Colin Farrell was also good in his role

    I haven't seen the movie yet, but I heard it was loosely based on the life of someone I knew, who has since passed on.

    Jeff Bridges had a sad role, for sure. I totally agree with you, but I thought the story overall was good. I'll be interested to see how Crazy Heart and Bridges continue to do in Awards season. I saw this film recently, but had wanted to for a long time.
