I love this story, thank you! Greek culture is so rich in this respect. I like the way this sensibility was appreciated (translated?) by the French and the English. Do you like the lithographs of Edouard-Henry Avril?

I have visited the Roman archaeological site-- and museum -- at Empuries, Spain, a few times over the years, and I just *love* the way the Spaniards say that all of the very fine erotica there is "Greek"!

    Hi AndrewPenny
Yes The Museum of Cycladic Art is my very favorite museum in The World. That is saying a lot as The National Archeological Museum in Athens is unbelievable!
I would love to go this exhibition!
I shall check out Edouard-Henry Avri.
I have not been to Spain but love the story of the then relatively unknown Julius Caesar coming on a shrine to Alexander The Great in Spain at the same age Alexander was when he died and being inspired to achieve Greatness too. He cried apparently at his lack of fame.
Also Emperor Hadrian was Spanish Roman so Spain a real centre of Ancient Rome! I would love to go to to Empuries. I will check it out online too.
I love the idea Ancient Romans went to Greece as tourists! everything is borrowed. The Greeks learned from Ancient Egypt!
