Maybe Too Much

I love music so much, I don't know why I didn't try to play an instrument all the time and become an expert at that instrument. It's much harder to play an instrument than to listen, of course, but I did learn how to play piano as a kid. However, I didn't go full-bore and play it all the time, enough to be considered a pianist.

What I really miss is having people who I could enjoy music with. I used to have a friend who shared a lot of the same tastes as me, and we would just sit there and play record after record, simply enjoying it. Nobody who isn't in high school does this ever. Sometimes I think it would probably be more of an engaging pastime than what passes for conversation with a lot of people.

The other day I was listening to the Air album 'Talkie Walkie', and the track 'Mike Mills' came on. I sat there and listened to it, and thought 'I just want to live in this'. I don't know what that means, exactly. I just wanted to feel what those sounds made me feel all the time, I guess.
