I have been involved in music since I was really young... it's led me a lot of places and I've made some of my best friends through music. I started singing when I was a toddler (Sesame Street and Little Mermaid, mostly) and took up violin at 9. I was in both orchestra and choir from elementary all the way up to the end of high school. Beginning in 6th grade, I began doing extracurricular orchestras as well. I was in the city-wide elementary and junior high honor orchestras, then straight on into high school I made it into the Treasure Valley Youth Symphony and my school's Chamber Orchestra (the only audition orchestra out of the three we had). At the same time as all this, I had been in the audition-only choral groups from junior high through high school. With both orchestra and choir, I had opportunities to travel to competitions and festivals all throughout the western US. It was great.
Senior year brought my proudest moments in music. That year I made it into the All-State Honor Orchestra, and I was in my high school's top choir, Capital Singers- a competitive jazz choir that is famous within the circle of northwestern choral jazz. I even had good opportunities to solo within the group!
I went on this last year to take private voice lessons and have, it seems, dropped violin completely... I hope I'll take it up again sometime, but I was getting tired of the competitiveness which came with being in the orchestra community. Hoping now to develop my voice's potential and perhaps get involved with musical theatre or opera.

Anyway, aside from that, I do like LISTENING to music also XD my favorite band is Nightwish, a Finnish symphonic metal group- the best band you've never heard of, I've heard multiple people say (I AGREE!!!) and right now I'm enjoying some nice trance webcasts off a website I found using StumbleUpon.
