Healthy, Amazing, And Beautiful

I'm not sure who cried more when he was born. Actually, he screamed, which was great-- showed his lungs were working well. I just kept saying "Oh my God, Oh my God" through my tears-- I couldn't believe this beautiful boy had just come out of me. So far, he is the sweetest  thing. Doesn't look much like me-- dark skin and hair-- but he knew me instantly. As soon as he was brought over to me and I planted kisses all over his sweet face, he stopped criying.

Now he's home, sleeping next to me like a little angel. He's only 4 days old, and I already got 6 hours of sleep (not at once, of course) his first night home. He only cries if he's hungry, having his diaper changed, or needs to  be held-- things that would make most of us cry. He loves to be held, and that isn't a problem for me! I'm blessed to have this healthy, beautiful little boy in my life. He has been a true gift -- albeit and unexpected one-- in my life, which is exactly what his name, Mateo, means.
