I Love My Best Friend

C has been my best friend since forever - our families have known each other for a really long time since we go to the same church. Last year he went out with my classmate, P. I really hate P. But in September, he dumped her cold. She still thinks he's her property. I really like him and I think he really likes me, but if we go out everyone's going to think that I stole him from P, and she'll freak out at me.
I really don't want to let her interfere with my life. What do I do???
