I Love My Car
For the record its a plymouth neon. it is purple. and my dad bought it for me, for my 21st birthday. I didn't even have my driver's licence at the time. I guess it was his way of pushing me towards it because I really wanted that car and to drive it. He gave both me and my sis our first cars, she totaled hers and this is one is mine.
I admit I was a total ditsy girl and forgot to put oil in my engine. That was the beginning of all my problems with my car. I blew my engine and since it's a '99 and a limited edition its hard to find the right one for my car. My dad found one with a guy who turned out to be pretty shady. It turned out to have a broken bracket for mounting the engine into the car. Then he couldn't find another one and didn't want to give us our money back. Wouldn't answer the phone or return our calls. When we were able to get him on the phone he said he spent the money already and couldn't get his hands on another $750 that we paid him. Finally my mom got him to agree to pay us back in payments and would go every day and get whatever he could give.
So while my mom dealt with that guy my dad found a guy who was able to get us another one and we finally got it and our mechanics worked on my car for two days out in our driveway. I happily drove my car for a month then i decided to drive to Vegas in it. Big mistake. Just a few days before our mechanics were working on fixing my air conditioning and my speedometer sensor. Actually the problem is in the entire dashboard but thats what they decided to fix, since i guess my speed is more important than knowing my gas levels, just so long as i keep track of how much gas i am using.
So when they were under my car one of them must have forgotten to plug my radiator in. Because my boyfriend and i drove almost all the way to Vegas when it broke down on us two miles outside of state line. I wrote about this in another story but anyways I have an uncle and aunt that live in henderson, nv.
They came and rescued us with her AAA membership and drove us to our hotel after treating us to lunch. Called up their own mechanic and had him come look at my car. He had to replace some radiator cap or something and found that my radiatior was unplugged. I had fluids but i still blew the engine because of it.
So after doing what he could for my engine my uncles mechanic said it was knocking and needed to be replaced again. We are still in the process of fixing my car. Hopefully this time i will take better care of the car i say i love so much.
My sister miss know it all says that we have been putting too much money in repairs, it would have probably been cheaper just to buy another one. Well easy for her to say, she totalled her car that he bought for her. She fell asleep driving home from northern california. A like 14 hour drive at least. My dad bought and gave her like 3 more cars, 1 she paid him back for.
I have little to no credit status. So there is no way anyone would sell a car to me without my dad being on the title. In fact they would probably prefer him to be the owner and me have my name on it. My dad is running the show, i know he would buy me another one if he felt that he should. I know that the money situation for them is very tight and I am in no place to make demands on him. I am pretty sure another reason he doesn't buy one is because it is purple and i love it just because of that.
Yes we could repaint whatever used one we got a hold of but it wouldnt be the first time i had to repaint a car of mine. I was in an accident, not my fault, and after all the body work that our mechanic did on it he said he would pay to have it repainted. Honestly sometimes i think my dad likes to spoil us whenever he can, since the opportunities come around very rarely
