I Love My Cars
My 1st car was an older used 1962 blue Buick "Special" which ended up being FAR from it's ironic name. My Mom helped me buy it and it was a very bad choice-Shortly after we bought it,I found out it would roll 4ward when it was in park which required I put blocks of wood under the front tires even on a flat surface. I was working a full time job and going to a junior college full time at the time. After working all night, I would race home to change and go on to my classes. We happened to live on a very winding, steep downgrade hill so one very windy morning I raced home and parked going downhill with the front wheels turned to the right- toward the curb.
Within 10 minutes the police are knocking on the door asking if I own the blue buick that had apparently jumped out of park and had ran across the street and ended up atop a huge mound of dirt - teetering on top. I believe I was able to drive it down but nobody could believe it didn't hit anything when it ran off.
Years later, living in Houston I had a beautiful custom 1982 Ford custom pickup truck with side rails and a tonneau truck bed cover that everyone wanted to buy from me. Within 18 months ,it was stolen out of the parking lot at work even though it was locked up tight including the double gas tanks and the mag wheels. I'm sure a tow truck took it as several cars had gotten stolen from this lot.
Fast 4ward to 2002- I now have a Nissan 4 wheel drive Pathfinder that gets hit (while parked),gets fixed for several thousand dollars and gets hit AGAIN while parked in my covered parking space (again, while PARKED) in 2003.
So:::: I've had 1 run,2 hits and a steal. Sounds like a baseball game don't ya think?
