I bought a mini mac which is new. My first mac. It is great and doesn't have the errors windows PC's have. But am amazed at your purchase! What a good deal! Well played!

Thanks. :) I agree. Macs are great. I actually switched after working as a Windows PC repair tech. After a day of fighting with Windows I wanted something that just works.

well, that's a pretty good price for an excellent machine!

I've always had Macs. I run two well-specified G4s with a Mitsubishi crt monitor for serious stuff and they do everything I need them to do. The machine I'm typing this on is an early G3 iMac which cost £10 roughly 3 years ago. The build-quality is superb. I do all my surfing on it. I'm puzzled that more people don't explore used kit - although older stuff won't run some recent software.

Maybe in another 10 years I'll upgrade to a G5:)

Cool. :) I love old macs. My old main machine was the "budget" 1ghz Fw800 MDD. It just recently started to get long in the tooth for my needs and when I saw the G5 for such a bargain price I jumped on it. The biggest reason I wanted to upgrade though was because the G5 uses SATA harddrives and new IDE drives are getting harder to find especially at a reasonable price.

I have another oldie as a spare surfing machine - an eMac. When this iMac fizzles out or blows up I'll be pleased to make the switch. I'm fairly well-off for storage - one of the G4s has two extra harddrives giving - I think - 750gb of space. The only drawback with this stuff is it takes up so much room. the boxes are one thing, crt monitors another and sometimes I do dream of a clear-out and maybe a fancy laptop...maybe when my current kit has bit the dust.

    Yay for you!

I got a refurbished mid 2007 mac mini a few years ago! Love it still....and my next computer will be, another mac, most likely another mac mini.

I think I will have to look at refurb macs next time round! Sounds like a good plan!
