I love my middle name because of it's origin and meaning. It comes from Hebrew, and means, "The Lord is willing". I'll never forget the look on my mother's face the day I found out it's meaning and told her. Why?

In my baby book, my mother wrote on the day I was born, "I've given you this name, Joelle, it is French and means, "joy".

My mother, whom I love dearly, is an ATHEIST. She looked dumbfounded, and stammered a bit. When she spoke, she said quietly, "for me, it will always mean "joy".

I am not an atheist. I believe my middle name, and it's TRUE meaning, was divinely intervened on that day.

thanks Pale~ so often people only hear their middle name when mom or dad is calling you out-- and you KNOW you've done something that's got them a bit peeved! LOL<br />
I've had an interest in names and their origins/meanings long since before either of my daughters were born. Each has a rare name, and with it an attached heritage/meaning.

thank you Bellas! I've always enjoyed it, but am almost never called by it.

This is a beautiful name!
