I am so sorry 4 your loss. having lost several old friends over the past few years i know how u feel. i keep 6 or more dogs, numerous cats, at ant given time, but there is always that special one. When i lost my old dog in 2004, he left a hole. sure my girls were there, but something was missing. I got the current love of my life as an early b-day gift about 18 months after Gordon passed.I wasn't looking for a new friend, but he needed me and it felt right. Tou will know when you are ready. The right dog will let you know when it is time. Hooka turns 7 this year and can't imagine ever not having him...

Oh trust me..all our cats are rescues and were never kittens in our home---we love that idea but for the dog, my husband really wants a puppy experience and the training rituals etc. I would be just as happy to adopt an older dog or a puppy....

    Hi There AudreyStrong,

HamsterLover123 here, So Sorry to read of your Sad Loss, I know what it is Like to loose and sadly have to part with a Much Loved Pet-whether it be a Dog, Hamster, Rabbit etc-I Know what it is Like to easily get so attached to a Pet.

Would you consider adopting a Rescue Dog?-I find I much prefer adopting Pets when and where I can-especially when it comes to adopting Hamsters and Rabbits as Pets.

Although I do have a Small Collie Cross RSPCA Rescue Dog-which gives me so much more satisfaction, enjoyment and peace of mindd Knowing I have helped and given a Good Home to a previously unfortunate Dog who has had a bad time and not much a Gopod Life previously-I would recommend anyone and People in general who Love Animals and want a Pet to "Adopt" instead of Buying.

I personally dont believe, nor see the point in spending a few Hundred Pound/Hundreds of Pounds on any Dog, or for any Pedigree Dog-when People can be helping Animla Rescue Centres who are usually most of the time Over run & inundated alot of the time by Dogs who are abandoned, neglected, Dumped through being Unwanted etc-Take it from me If I were you I would still seriously Consider and seriously think about adopting a previously unwanted Dog which has has some form of Bad time sometime in their Life,

Good Luck and Hope you definetly do make the right decision,

I also find that I have to get another Pet soon after-Not to replace the Previous Pet Loss, but of which I find is a Good and effective way of helping relieve the Loss for you-by carrying on and giving the next and another Pet,Dog a Good Life and a Good Home,

Please do get in touch and keep in touch and let me know How you get on, also remember it should not, nor does not matter What age a Dog is-Does not specifically havem to be a Puppy(as cute as they are) what ever age of Dog and Whatever Dog you choose(even an Older one)-at the end of the day you will be giving an Previously Unfortunate Dog a Good Home and a Good Life-of which Many have never had the experience, nor opportunity of Having, having been given a Good Home and Life before ,
