I Don't Know What I'd Do Without Her...

Growing up my sister and I fought quite a bit... all sisters do... but we were always overprotective of each other... she, being the older sister, took on the "mother" role when my mom wasn't around... my mom moved a lot when we were kids and we lived with my grandparents quite a bit.  I moved with my mom some of the times but my sister never did, she stayed with grandparents the whole time.  Anyway... so as we got older she became more and more protective over me... and when I had my children they became "her" children.

She helped me out a lot when I had my first son... I was 19, working part-time and going to school part-time... I was a kid... she would send me money even when she barely had any... she'd call and check on me...

She can be overwhelming and bossy at times but I know it's because she has always thought of me as someone that needs her protection... she is back home in Hawaii and I am in Georgia... she visits when she can... and she calls me just about every day...

We are best friends... we help each other through our bad times and we celebrate with each other during our good... we have been each others rock our whole lives and I don't see that ever changing... she is my hero...

I agree... I know a lot of people who aren't as close as my sister and I and I just don't see how... we are pretty lucky aren't we?

What a wonderful story. I feel the same way about my sister. We are pretty lucky to have sisters that do what they do for us.
