You are right Dee, posting stories can be a pain sometimes; but losing a computer document can happen anywhere, anytime. It's not just the EP site. The safest thing to do with your carefully developed story is to write it in a word processor like "Notepad" or "Wordpad," or even "Word" from Microsoft. Use any word processor and "save" your story often! I save my story about every half paragraph as I type it out, that's twice a paragraph, every few lines.

Once I've finished writing the story and have it saved I go back over it and proof read it, correcting errors and re-saving as I go. Then when I have it finished I just "copy" the story and "paste" it to the on line document and post it.

The "copy" and "paste" tricks used to be a complete mystery to me until my wife gave me a copy of "Windows 95 for Dummies". That "for Dummies" book was a real eye-opener for me. It explained how to use my new computer very clearly and I get a lot more pleasure and use out of it now.

Once you learn how to use one version of Microsoft Windows the newer versions of Windows are not that hard to learn. I think a book like that would help you a lot. I wish I could send you one. If you guys do back out of EP, I hope you will leave the stories on the site 'cause I have yet to read all of them.

    Warm regards,

    from Ward

Good idea Dee, getting an EP site of your own; besides, it's free. You can get computer help books at the library too. XX-OO

That sucks. I think if you check the "Keep me signed in" (or whatever it says) box when you sign in, that should keep you from timing out. Seems like the only time we had a problem was when that box wasn't checked. That, and I always copy the text before submitting anything because I have had so many problems over the years with that type of thing happening throughout the internet in general. Good luck.

I sounds like your browser is time-out as you are writing the story. Maybe a way to get around the timing out problem is to write the story "off-line" with a Word or WordPad or something and then copy the story once it is complete.

An idea because I hate to see you guys leave!
