Nola

I first came to love this town, and everything in it, when I was a junior in high school.

My youth group of 12 people, adults included, went to Nawlins for one purpose. Help with the clean up after Katrina.

We gutted three houses in five days, completely from flooded furniture down to the support beams. Just the 12 of us. It was sweaty and messy and dirty and the temperature was almost 120 degrees, but I wouldn't have wanted to be anywhere else (except maybe the French Quarter!).

I have never been the same since that summer I helped out. We may not have done much, but I was completely changed. We visited the 9th Ward and the devastation was horrible, to completely understate it. I got my first tattoo of a Fleur de Lis to remind me of what I had gone through.

Because of all of my experiences, I became obsessed with everything NOLA. The Saints came with the territory. Ever since that summer, I've been a fan. Even in the sad times, the good times, the GREAT times ( like tonight!!!!) I have stayed with them.

Good Job, Saints.

I'll see you at Mardi Gras next year, NOLA! ;)
