Prime Numbers

Anyone familiar enough to speak "math" knows of Fourier Series, which can be used to approximate ANY function [even the STEP function, which astonished me]. I wonder if, instead of using all the periods in the sine functions composing a Fourier series, what would happen if you only allowed PRIME number periodicity?

A similar question can be posed for solutions to the wave equation and in particular the vibrational modes of a string? I only have the question, not the answer....

This is how my Jimmy thinks of his music.<br />
Sometimes it causes him so much stress, he can't even listen to the radio alone in the car, cause he must start righting it down, and he composes with numbers, not the traditional clefs, and note system, but numbers.
