And It's A Whole New World

This is the story I wasn't going to write...too personal...don't want folks to get the wrong impression and start feeling sorry for frito.
Today I winterized my place...temporarily moved out for the winter months.
It's old, just put a new roof on it and sure looked like I wouldn't make it through the winter without a new furnace...add that to the price of fuel and it became a no brainer.
So for the past 2 weeks and until Spring arrives I am sharing a 150 year old home, in a situation that has all the makings of a surreal sitcom.

Yes there is a sitcom cast of characters (and I'm sure I'm one of them), a crazy next door neighbor, an American flag flying proudly across the street with giant letters, "Don't Tread On Me" ...And this is in Northeastern United States...hahaha

One of my kitties is loving it...the other may never forgive me....no more purrs for me. The home's owner has alluded to the "Russian Mob.."... don't know what she's trying to tell me but she is clearly a character...

I can tell some of my friends feel bad for me...exactly what I don't want. I am feeling so pleased with myself (yup) that I was able to do this...able to stretch...able to find a creative solution...certainly not perfect but mostly good.

I have a beautiful view of the morning sunrise and for the first time in years actually do sleep like a baby!

Hi Nancy...it's sooo good to see you !! Thanks. I'd been thinking about it for a while, then when the opportunity came up I went for it...no agonizing, like usual *grin*...so far so good..it's working.

I'm a sucker for "whacky stories." :)

How brave and responsible of you...you're simply amazing! This experience should provide volumes of wonderful and wacky stories. I can't wait to hear at least a few of them. :)

Hahaha, you are so right about the cat...the big guy is exacting his sweet revenge....:)

Thanks NO8DO, it warm and kinda cozy here....I'm fine and kind of enjoying the surrealness of it all. I'll keep you posted. *grin*

Awww thanks SilentR!! It really does feel like an adventure...a bit offbeat and I'm not real sure how it will work out but I absolutely believe there will be some new stories! :)

Haha Pedro...never thought about the vodka *grin* !!!

I think it's a very creative solution indeed! - There might even be some Russian Vodka in store!! lol

Kudo's to Frito for making the best of it!!!

Thanks Jersey...it would have been a"...long, cold winter..." I just didn't want to deal with it again.

Here's wishing you a speedy sale so you can move on to "warmer" days.

And enjoy your "adventure."

Thanks Juan. It is "kind of fun" ...sort of like going back a bit to an earlier time. .. like sharing a house for the summer.. And I have a feeling it's going to get pretty interesting! :)

That's great! Switching things up can be really refreshing. I've had a few temporary long-term stays in my short life, and they always seem kind of fun.
