Random spontaneous picture

Photography: G. Farquhar

A change of pace, today. This is the first picture I took with my brand, spanking new iPhone 4GS. I was on the bus on George Street and playing with the camera, then – just as the bus passed one of those streets that connect George Street to Princes Street (I think it was either Frederick Street or Castle Street), I had a half-second opportunity. I raised the camera and spontaneously snapped off this picture.

So… no nudes, no erotica, no challenges to the ************ taboo… just a random picture of Edinburgh Castle on a winter’s morning.

Great shot from iPhone. I might challenge mine myself. You took from a great angle. The lights taking all the colors from your subjects. Great effects. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks. It really was just a very spontaneous picture - taken with absolutely no preparation or notice at all. I was very lucky with this one.

Wow, that's an amazing shot. I like the dark shadows and the ***** of sunlight streaming down the street. It looks like cobblestone. Is it?
The pic looks so interesting to me because it appears to be a mixture of a B&W shot from the sky down, and color from the sky up. That blue with morning sun piercing the clouds stands out against the street below.

that is such a beast picture. sometimes the best ones are the random ones.
i heard that iphone 4 takes really good pics

that is so true. random are usually the best

Thank you. You should see some of my others - although that's probably the only I have posted that's suitable for family viewing. And yeah, from what I've seen so far, I've been impressed by the pictures on this 'phone.

Hey that picture came out pretty good considering you were using a cell phone (and in motion too). I have the older model and at times my Iphone casts these weird shadows in the pictures.

I think it was the lighting. Iphones take great pictures when the light is good.
