I just had to examine these again. I really like the railroad (2nd to last). Not a well maintained track but so mysterious.

Looked at the tracks as well. Thought they must of been temp. or a light train. All the tracks I have came across use cross ties, this looks like it was laid on cut trees from the area, so it made me wonder what it was used for, mining?
May be areas where this is common, IDK, Have looked at old tracks that all had cross ties.
Usually a Railroad tears it's tracks up when they stop using it, for liability, we walk along gathering the nails, not the spikes so much, a railroad man can tell when that nail was used, for instance some of the ones we gathered were pre-depression, ( the 1930's one).
Anyway was glad to see that one had caught Your eye also, very observant.
Answer may be simple to some.From Fl.. to Cal. I haven't seen the like, I haven't been able to check the mining country in the east or the timber country in the North west.
Always carry a camera, tried both Android & my iPhone, get fair pictures but nothing compared to the camera.
Mostly use for sports, though a good nature picture is hard to beat.
You may get a once in a lifetime shot, as when I started with sports there were not near as many cameras used making a unique photo that much rarer.
If nothing else there is always a special looking Women walking by LOL.

After inspecting it again, I believe it is an old railroad trestle. I first noticed the total absense of ballast and then how the ground drops away near the far side of the curve.
