I Love Poetry
The bottle on the floor is empty
Her body lies limp by the door.
No point taking her to hospital
They can't help her anymore.
She's swallowed a hundred tablets
Cos she wanted to end her life
To stop all the pain and suffering,
She tried to end her strife.
The deed is done, she can't look back
She wouldn't want to because her past is black.
Her lifetime of misery was passed on to me
And now painful darkness is all I see
And though I am mournful I carry no gall
For I know that a life without happiness is no life at all.
The thing that granted her happiness stole all mine away
For without her in my life, I shall never smile again.
I understand why she did it, why she took her life away
But by getting her happiness, she forced on me an unbearable pain.
The deed is done, she can't look back
She wouldn't want to because her past is black.
Her lifetime of misery was passed on to me
And now painful darkness is all I see
The bottle on the floor is empty
Her body lies limp by the door.
No point taking her to hospital
They can't help her anymore.
But what good would it do for her to survive
When she does not wish to be alive?
I helped grant her happiness by watching her end her life
She swallowed the tablets, and stopped all her strife.
The deed is done, she can't look back
She wouldn't want to because her past is black.
her lifetime of misery was passed on to me
and now painful darkness is all I see
And though I am mournful I carry no gall
For I know that a life without happiness is no life at all.
