While You Sleep

This repost from Dec. 2011 was a follow-up to my poem, called " Who Strums the Strings of Heavens Harp" this to is about the daughter of a wonderful E.P. friend. I hope she never needs to come back to E.P. because she has found someone to share her life and who helps shoulder the unbelievable burdens that she carried by herself with such poise and grace.

While You Sleep

Where have you been my lovely girl, I miss your fleeting glance
Where do you go my lovely girl, in your sleep you dream and dance?
I want to be with you my lovely girl, to light your darkest days
I want to be with you my lovely girl, to show you the suns golden rays

What are you thinking my fairest child, when you fall into your sleep?
What are you thinking my fairest child, can you feel my love so deep?
I am beside you my fairest child, when you feel so bad and alone
I am beside you my fairest child, as I watch you contort and moan

I am always with you my precious one, in sleep and awake I am here
I am always with you my precious one, so you have nothing to fear
I will always be with you my precious one, even when time has stood still
I will always be with you my precious one, today and forever I promise I will

You made a difference my wonderful child; you brought love and laughter to me
You made a difference my wonderful child; you were everything I wanted to see
You made me laugh and cry my love; I shed tears of both wonder and strife
You made me laugh and cry my love you will live in my heart all the days of my life
