With All My Heart

I got to know the band in 8th grade, where I just couldn't stop listening to it. I had this huge tape player (whatever the name of it is) that I carried around with me all the time listening to Greatest Hits II album over and over and over and over. I knew all songs of this album by heart.
Back then my favorite song was Who wants to live forever. Now, though I love all their songs (well, most of them), my favorite ones are Bohemian Rhapsody and Love of my life.
I so wish Freddie Mercury was still alive and the band was still touring, because my dream that won't come true is to be at their concert.

Last fall I found a local band that performs Queen's songs, all their concerts are called "A tribune to Queen". They were actually been picket out by Brian May for our local We will rock you musical cast. And so far I haven't missed any of their concerts.
The first time I went to their concert I was surprised by 2 things. 1st, by how close to original they perform. It was amazing. And 2nd, the age of people who came to the concert. Youngest I saw was not older than 15, and oldest around 60 :)
Their next concert is in couple of weeks so I'm looking forward to it :))

I saw Queen live in 1984 on the Works tour in the Birmingham NEC. Such a memorable concert.
Love of my life had Brian May sat playing the Guitar and Freddy just raised his arms and the whole audience sang. It was a shivers down the spine moment.
A fantastic band and always at the top of my favourites list.

A fantastic band indeed :)

Queen were the second band I got into in a big way. The first was Big Country - a Scottish rock band who hit their peak in the '80s.
I was as obsessive as you describe. For a while, I could have told you the name of every track on a specific album. These days, I'm much hazier about that sort of thing.
