The Grip Of My Book

My name is Kimberly. I am 17 and a junior in highschool. When I was younger, about 7-12 I read continuously and I loved it. At that time in my life I was dealing with alot of things at home and this, unintentionally, kept me occupied. I've never noticed that until now. As i grew older i began to hesitate to read books. I felt that they were boring and a waste of time. When in reality, it was a time of relaxation and learning. I picked up my first book, in many years, with an intent to read it. I read and as I got into the story I remember why I liked reading. It kept me focused and gave me peace in a hectic environment. This was in November of 2012. Ever since then I've been reading and enjoying it. My generation doesn't read as much as the others but I'm sure I can find some who enjoy reading as much as I do. It takes me to places that I've never been. I can imagine with not one restraint to pull me down because when I open that book...........I am free.
