I Haven't Always. ...

I haven't always. When I was in Jr High School I HATED reading. Infact I don't think I had read an entire novel. I couldn't take it...it was boring and a waste of time as far as I was concerned. Then I had this teacher....in 8th grade. She told me one time that she'd get me to read a novel if it was the last thing she did. Then she handed me a book one day and told me that if I didn't read that book and do an essay on it I was going to fail her class (there were other circumstances here, that's the short version of the story).  It was this huge novel I about died. I put off reading it for as long as I could but I couldn't fail the class so had to read the stupid thing. I got hooked...I couldn't put the thing down...infact I think I read the whole thing in 2 days. (which isn't bad for the size of novel and the fact that I hated reading). So the teacher won that part of the battle. After that she kept giving me books to read...I kept in touch with her all thought school even after I graduated....even now I talk to her regularly. When I lived 2000 miles away she would mail books to me and almost every time I talk to her now she asks me what I'm reading and if I say nothing she hands me another book lol. I've found that if I find the right books I love to read...I wont put them down. They just have to be something that interests me...and this teacher friend of mine has me figured out pretty well cause she can always find me books that I can't put down.
