Just Started...!

I'm so excited - tomorrow i'm going on a rock climbing camp for 2 days! i only started learning the basics less than two month ago, and made my first climb only 2 weeks ago.

i'm not a very sporty person normally - my cousins and sister are all great at badminton (they smash the shuttlecock like there's no tomorrow) and i am quite hopeless, sufficient to say.

i love the fact that when i'm up there looking for a grip or foothold, its all "me" - i'm depending on "me, no one but "me" will be at a loss if i dont make it. i love that i can stick it out, and when i make it to the top, its the best feeling ever.

i'm so glad i decided to take a chance and step outside my comfort zone!

That's so true, rock climbing is all about you on the rock and you are the key to your success. Don't get so hung up in the "success" though that you lose sight of the true joy of the climb itself, and remember at the top to take a few minutes to relax and enjoy the view. :)

Where is this camp taking you climbing? Just curious. I have been to a few climbing areas around the U.S. and might know the place. Camp should be great. They will teach you knots and various other skills. Take note of the other kids that are good at it and approach them to get a climbing group together after the camp. Then you can learn the ropes on your own and keep doing it.

I hope oyu have a wonderful time at camp!
