I'll Never Stop Rocking!!!

Rock and roll forever! Now don't get me wrong, I like a lot of kinds of music including rock, metal, grunge, indie, alternative, punk, reggae, ragtime, old school (meaning 1980s and 1990s) hip hop and rap, blues, jazz, swing, that funny atonal Asian music, and even some classical. I like all sorts of music, I enjoy playing jazz and blues on my piano especially. But when it really comes down to it, I live and breathe rock and roll and heavy metal runs through my veins. I will now list some bands, groups, and artists I like from various genres. Jimi Hendrix, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Jefferson Airplane, Led Zeppelin, The Who, Nirvana, The Gits, The Smashing Pumpkins, The Offspring, The Beatles, Black Sabbath, The Rolling Stones, Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Doors, AC/DC, Aerosmith, Queen, John Mellencamp, Aliotta Haynes & Jeremiah, Velvt Underground, Slapstick, Iggy and the Stooges, Shorty Rogers and his Giants, Charlie Parker, Slim Gailard, Oscar Peterson, Duke Ellington, Muddy Waters, Jethro Tull, Heart, Fleetwood Mac, Motorhead, Blue Oyster Cult, Motley Crue, Steve Miller Band, Styx, The Black Crowes, Three Dog Night, The Animals, The Monkeys, The Grateful Dead, Guns n Roses, The Scorpions, Bob Marley, Ziggy Marley, Bobby McFerrin, The Clash, J. Geils Band, Cypress Hill, Eric Burdon and War, The Kinks, House of Pain, Del tha Funkee Homosapien, Van Halen, Metallica, Pantera, Iron Maiden, Cage the Elephant, Cheap Trick, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Everlast, B Reel, James Cotton, Guess Who, The Black Keys, Atlas Genius, Rise Against, Angel City Outcasts, The Rotten Apples, Rage Against the Machine, Green Day, Frank Turner and the Sleeping Souls, Apollo 13, George Thorogood and the Destroyers, The Eagles, Joe Walsh, Boston, Supertramp, Dropkick Murphys, NO FX, The Alkaline Trio, Reverend Horton Heat, Gaslight Anthem, Gogol Bordello and Gypsy Punk, Switchfoot, White Stripes, Pink Floyd, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, The Peacocks, and Fishbone. Now that that is over with (MAJOR props to you if you read that whole thing and didn't pull a tl;dr on me) I only hate a small amount of music. I hate post 90s or new millennium hip hop and rap like Jay Z or Kanye West or Two Chains or Nikki Minaj (*shiver* ewwww Nikki Minaj), pop like Katy Perry or Rihanna, indie pop AKA slow hipster bullshit or "bands you've probably never heard of" despite that they've out four single hits this year such as fun. or Foster the People (they have two songs I really love a lot but the rest of their stuff sucks ***), bubblegum like Madonna or Selena Gomez, most country and all country pop fusion like Toby Keith or Taylor Swift, and any form of dubstep/electronica/synth/nightcore/speedcore with a couple of exceptions including Gangnam Style and We No Speak Americano. Also, big high fives to you if you're a fellow rocker. If you want some investing new music and need some recommendations just ask me, or if you've found something new and cool feel free to share it with me, because I always appreciate good music.

So, no Dragonforce? I think they're very inspirational. I'll not say anything about some of your dislikes that I love, but Katy Perry is not that nasty slùt that everyone thinks she is. She just doesn't care about what people think of her music. Her fans will just appreciate the music, whereas the ignorant haters will just give her shït.

But hey. No one said everyone has to like everything. Oh wait. There are some who will say that, and that will try to drill it into your brain. I like to call those kind of people 'deserve to be hung'.

I am a musician, and I am a bass guitarist. I also am a singer, but only for some songs, mostly Pretenders songs. Somehow, I can emulate Chrissie Hynde's voice perfectly.

I don't care anything about Katy Perry as a person, she can be the slüttiest woman on Earth. I just think her music is trash.

that is quite a selection. a good selection i might add. so give me some names of some new good music. i am always up for something new to listen to.

Well lately I have been on a big Cage the Elephant kick, they aren't super new but they still are playing. The Black Keys have been quite active as well.

wow some of my favorite bands are in here

You ought to check out my one photo album with some of my favorite bands and singers. You'll find some of the bands that you listed above in there, as well as two of my favorite bands, Judas Priest and Disturbed.

Aw hell yeah! Disturbed were some of my uncle's favorites, but he always liked Slayer best.

I never really got into Slayer. But the majority of the bands and singers you listed are the ones I grew up with, especially bands/singers like Aerosmith, AC/DC, Motley Crue, Alice Cooper, and Iron Maiden to name a few.

My father taught me that Bon Scott is god. He sold out now though, he's a HUGE Rihanna fan, and he just bought tickets to see Muse live. Uggggh both of those suck so badly.

Which is why, with a few exceptions, my music collection is mainly hard rock and heavy metal, with a few comedy CDs thrown in.

Hell yeah. I listen to rock only, I hate all that pop crap and techno ****..and dubstep too. Meaningless or no lyrics, **** music

There's good on all types. I like it all except techno. There's no instruments in it. The musician in me coming out.

Great list! Do you listen to Slayer at all? The only hip hop or rap I really listen to is, Tech N9ne!

There is one Tech N9ne song called "Am I a Psycho" and that song is my anthem. I don't know a lot of Slayer but what I do know is pretty good. My uncle is a huge fan.

Yeah the music video is kick too! Slayer is my favorite band! Grew up listening to them! So it stuck with me!

The reason I like that song so much is cos I actually am a psycho. Literally. I've been diagnosed with an uncommon for, of psychosis though it doesn't affect me too badly.

Really? I've just been called psycho, never diagnosed with it!
