I agree to lounge all day with one we love, cuddle and chat, talk of our dreams for the future and reflect on our memories of the past ... that to me is as romantic as any fancy dinner out. Of course when one is with their love ... its not what your doing its who your doing it with .... that counts

I know what you mean RW - its not just the little things that matter ... its when everything matters ... like those cracked heels (an excuse to for a foot massage and lotion) or those racoon eyes that you've seen before and can't get enough of (and a good reason to bring someone a cup of tea - two nutrasweets of course)... Its easy to find romance in the evening, its love when you can find romance the morning after .... romance is a gift that allows us to always see the beauty of the moment .... romance is watching someone sleep and trying not to spoil the moment .... romance is a rainy day when the alarm clock does not go off and you can cuddle all day ............

this is exactly how I am...through many of the stories here on EP I see bits and peices of myself. It's incredible how many people we can relate to here...

This is a beautiful post RW.

It doesn't matter whether you've been with a lover recently or not. The essence of the post holds true.

The internet, cell phones, and "microwaves" are wonderful inventions. They save time, help us to connect with people we may never have met, cook a meal in an instant...but...BECAUSE of the these inventions, we have less and less time to spend together, in person...we have to go here, finish this...and so on.

What happened to the art of conversation? Real conversation where you look someone in the eye, and pay attention to them and only them (without checking your crackberry every 5 seconds...an offense I commit on a regular basis)?

What happened to taking the time to actually prepare a meal? I'm not talking tossing a jar of marinara sauce on some pasta, I'm talking about choosing the perfect tomatoes, picking fresh basil, and taking the time to chop the garlic.

Romance is about taking our time and appreciating the one your with fully. It's remembering to tell them that you appreciate them. It's making the time to prepare the marinara from scratch because you know the person you're with appreciates the love and care you put into making the meal just for them.

Romance is remembering the little things...and yes, RW, romance is just what you said in your original post...and it MUST be given as well as received by both people in the relationship.

I have been without a lover or even a close (local, able to touch) friend in over 5 years. I just long for hours of caressing that builds to explosive passions, breakfast (which I rarely eat) on a warm morning, strolls in the park, baths before big rock shows, then more love making after. Hopefully soon... *siggggh*
