It's A Love-hate Relationship!

I love to run - when I'm doing it on a regular basis. I'm good at it, I'm fast, I can win races... but when life gets in the way and the days between runs increases, it is painful!
It frustrates me when my mind and legs take off like I know I'm capable, and then my lungs and heart beg "What the hell do you think you are doing?"
I know it makes me a better person, I know it makes me stronger, I know it helps encourage my kids to be better athletes, and I know that given time it will be FUN again.  Yes, I love to run...
I love to run...
I love to run...
I love to run...
I love to run...
I love to run...
I love to run...
I love to run...
I love to run...

Running feels like the elemental human experience when it's good. But it's impossible for me to do more than a half marathon without creeping injuries.

Living that existence right now. I was in good shape until the third week in November, and then I took a break--until January!

With all the laziness and extra food, etc. I added ten pounds! Now I have that back fat and some additional stomach bulge that just makes me recoil in horror. So I've dragged my LFA out on nine runs since the New Year, and I'm only now starting to enjoy it. The hammies have been crying and the left arch complains about the lack of support. Just about time to bleach the Bikilas again as they're starting to stink.
