I use very gentle sarcasm like: so you think I might want to kiss you, huh? Well you might be right!

Not cool, does not make us slow or dumb or boring, people who don't use sarcasm are well adjusted individuals who don't feel the need to put others down in order to prove something. Honesty is the best policy, not silly, hurtful remarks which don't get any one any where.

I fully disagree with you liz, and things are just the opposite.

Teasing is harmful, telling someone they are fat, not good looking, bad at something, not good enough etc. is mean, cruel and usually done by a bully mentality which causes nothing but harm to ones psych. In no way, shape or form is teasing funny for the person on the other end.

Teasing has nothing to do with joking, jokes are humor if they are real jokes.

I see sarcasm as truth cloaked in humor. You have a choice, If you choose not to extract the truth from it, then you can take the humor and walk away.

As far as "ripping someone a new one" and demeaning people with insults ? , thats an anger problem , and it has nothing at all to do with sarcasm..

    Have a great day !

sarcasm is only anger. It is used to put others in their place by use of insults and demeaning remarks. I was angry for a long time and could "rip you a new one" before you knew what hit you. I never want to be like that again. Teasing and joking on the other hand are not insulting. If you look sarcasm up you would see that this is a form of harming others. It took me a long time to get waway from that way of communicating

I'm never angry when I use sarcasm. In fact, it helps keep me from becoming angry.

Sarcasm is a great tool to use to get things off your chest. I use it all the time. Mostly on those people that are "shut down" to hearing me. It let's me vent in a more civilized way than yelling.

Yes but if one has a sense of humor, I believe it goes hand in hand :) .

Some people, him being one, can't separate the two and pull the humor out and see it for what it is.
