Science Has All The Answers !

MARIE CURIE - THE GREATEST FEMALE SCIENTIST
(1867 - 1934)  THE ONLY PERSON TO RECEIVE
TWO NOBEL PRIZES IN SCIENCE - PHYSICS IN
1903 AND CHEMISTRY IN 1911 !

Why are all metals conductors
Why do all the plastics insulate ?
Why is all the grass I've seen
Always "Forty Shades of Green"
And why can't chimpanzees
And Humans mate ?

Why can't we live on Mars or Venus
Will the Earth support another billion folk ?
Could we make milk without a cow
Or bacon without boar or sow
And is a human robot just a joke ?

MERCURY - VENUS - EARTH - MARS CONDITIONS
ON EARTH ARE JUST RIGHT TO SUSTAIN LIFE
OXYGEN & WATER & TEMPERATURE (average 15C)

The sun makes heat by nuclear fusion
Will we run out of energy one day ?
Could we manage here on Earth make a sun
That would energise us when all the petrol's gone
Or will the Human Race just fade away ?

What stops the Solar System
From flying into space ?
Why don't we run out of water
When we're always boiling
Why does salt taste salty
It looks like sugar - which is sweet ?
Why do our hands have fingers
When we've toes upon our feet
Why when we put food in a freezer
It stays fresh and never spoiling ?

ON A GROWTH MEDIUM ON A PETRI DISH

We have a million questions
About this and about that
How to teach a doggie tricks
Or pull puppies from a hat
How to work computers
And electronic appliances
Do not despair - the answers there
All's explained by the SCIENCES !

There is always something to discover so you can never be bored with science...

Great story, WS - and I love the reference to my favourite scientist, Marie Curie! Excellent questions. Of all the subjects I teach as a teacher I think I enjoy teaching Science the most. For children it is a world of magic out there. I took my class on an excursion to Scienceworks last week and we had a wonderful time. Are people safe inside an airplane during a lightning storm? How does a refrigerator work? What happens to waste water when it leaves the home? These were some of the questions explored using hands on activities. Thanks again for a great post.
