They Can Be Like Digging Up A Treasure Chest.

Sometimes they are more intresting than the regular book stores. There are books there you would never have found in a regular book store. I love looking in the piles of childrens books and picking fun neat books for the kids. Seeing a special book I had forgotten out of the corner of my eye from childhood is like hitting the lottery. And the really neat part is they are usually 1/3 of the price of a new book! I love a bargain. And as for me I can buy 5 books rather than one new book at the store and not feel guilty. Plus the looking itself is fun. Like an adventure.

Ever been to Hay-on-Wye in the United Kingdom or any book village in Europe? It's a whole village full of second hand bookshops. In Hay-on-Wye there're normally over 25 shops in village with only a few hundred houses!

No but it sounds fabulous. I would love to see a book village some day.

well put. I am always needing more books...despite the many piled up around me-and simply couldn't imagne paying full retail for 'em.

Have to agree the price is right and you can find out of print books as well as many that are not in the new stores. Just a real nice feeling spending a afternoon in the used stores.
