Cheap And Unique

Between the two of us, Goldie and I had nearly 20 people we wanted to get gifts for this past Christmas.  Quite a few got homemade cookies, a couple more we gave crafty things to.  That still left us with about ten things to buy.

So we went on a thrift-store crawl.  There's a stretch along one of the main drags here that is full of thrift stores.  We rode the bus to the beginning, and walked (and shopped!) our way to the end.

Some people, we knew what we wanted.  I'd painted a picture for Grey, and wanted a cheap-but-nice frame for it.  Other people we just figured we'd know when we found the right thing.

All told, out of that 20 person list, we only got three gifts at full price.  I'm not sure I want to know how much all those items would have cost new.

And THAT, ladies and gentlemen, is why I love thrift stores!
