One of My First Anime...

When I first got into anime, all that was on British TV (other than the shows obviously aimed at kids) was Gundam Wing, Cowboy Bebop and Outlaw Star.  The first anime that I actually went out and acquired for myself was Slayers.

I think that it's a really underrated series.  It has great characters and a great sense of humor.  My personal favourite episode has to be the one in NEXT were they go fishing for water dragon meat.  That one had me in stitches.

Each series also has their good points too (though I haven't seen much of season 4 before it got licensed).  Slayers is a brilliant introduction to the main characters - Lina, Gourry, Amelia and Zelgadis - and also probably has the best balance between plot and humor.  Slayers NEXT has the funniest stand-alone episodes.  Slayers TRY is not as funny, but has a great plot.

I love this series so much...

Ahhh! I forgot about Zelga-bunny! That episode was brilliant too. I also like the NEXT episode where they all have to dress up as women to look for the Claire Bible in a village that forbade men. I thought that was brilliant.

I have been converting housemates, boyfriends etc to anime for years by lending them Sla<x>yers just to "give it a go". They've all been hooked :D<br />

My favorite episode is Sla<x>yers Next - A Big Crash? The Battle at Artemay Tower!<br />

I want Zelga-bunny & Gourry jellyfish plushies!
