Farewell To The 'hurricane'

I've just heard that Alex 'Hurricane' Higgins has died at the age of 61, after suffering from cancer for many years.

Always controversial, he, more that anyone, brought snooker into the modern era, made it into a massive spectator sport, and paved the way for Jimmy 'whirlwind' White and Ronnie 'the Rocket' O' Sullivan.

RIP Alex

And me, Opalgem. He was an inspitation for a whole generation of pla<x>yers, and he captivated the screen.

I was so sad to hear this news too. One of the great characters I grew up watching on TV.

hehe, indeed I will have to find that out, and I shall look forward to that journey of discovery ;-)<br />

Love you xxoo

hehe, yes, I'd love that :-) I'm sure you're better than you let on, but it will be my pleasure to give you a game, and a few tips ;-) I love both games, I got to a reasonable standard at snooker, but I've always been better at pool/9 ball. So, meet you on the baize! *chalks cue* xxoo
