I have so many fond memories of snow days when I was young. Days spent off from school, barreling down any hill we could find on our Flexible Flyer sled. We went thru a stretch of years from the late 70s thru early 80s when we had huge numbers of massive snowstorms every year. I can remember it getting so cold on year that the Chesapeake Bay completely froze over from shoreline to shoreline and they had to call in Coast Guard ice cutters to clear the channel. This past year was the first time in nearly 30 years that we had a winter like those old ones. Guess I'm still a kid at heart--I loved it!

I have only seen snow once. It was a 3 hour drive to see it. But I think I would love it if I could experience it each year. The closest I experience is the frosty winter mornings, and I look forward to those. It's a lovely feeling, being all rugged up and out in the cold - everything so white and sharp and fresh. I love the red nose, the billowing vapour of breath. The way sound itself is sharper and clearer. I'm definitely a winter person.
