Some Smiles......:-)

Its about cricket which is played alot in our part of world. I had recently joined university. There used to be a tournament every semester. First time it came, i was new i almost begged teams to let me play. haha...they didnt let me....a new guy...u r a **** man...there are seniors sitting here ready to show the world how great they are...i watched the tournament sitting at the fence. next semester came, some graduated....our team captain who was captain last time too found a slot still unfilled. just few minutes before the match he came to me..."u want to play?".."yeah man...sure"..."ok..u r in". haha...well..i still sat on the bench...as my team who were batting first...got out one after the other...last 9 balls...when the second last player got out...captain had a look at his team, i was left "should i go in or are you going to abondon the match" ..were m thoughts....haha...atlast i got a chance....3 balls i took a single...i had to face the last over...our team was sitting quitely....first ball came...it went for a six (thats a max score u can get on a legal ball in cricket)...second ball...another six....third...another....fourth...another six.....my team was dancing by than...fifth ball....four runs...last ball...three runs........my team went wild....i suddenly became their hero...they had a chance to win now...they had got a huge score on the last six balls...it was our turn now to ball...we had to get them out before they could chase down our score...first over was bowled by someone else....than captain came to me..."can you bowl"..."yeah man"..ok you are in...i got four wickets from the next two overs i bowled....got two catches by diving on the ground....i remember...even the other teams players, and their captains, came running to me in the ground...all of them were patting my back....i was hearing praise from all of them...i suddenly got famous in whole of the campus.....yes i was given a small prize too for my performance...couple of milk packs and a post match video taped interview...incidently it was the first match for the bowler too...he was pulling his hair out..."you have buried me alive man"..i still remeber his comments....coincidently...before the match, i had seen him doing practice bowling, i had told him "dont bowl like this in the match...someone will whack you around in the ground"....who knew...it was going to be me.....haha....even now, when i remember that time, i cant help but smiling and enjoying that time...

hmmm...kind of...not much....she was a night club dancer initially.....whats she got to do with boxing...except blacks rights activist she was probably...

hmmm....sony liston i know he was ugly bear...i hv seen the weigh ins with ali...Ali was going so out of control even at wigh ins...liston probably didnt knew what was coming...thoug he looked a lil what shud i say....lil fear saw on his face....Ali made a huge impact by defeating him once and again before even ppl sat on their seats....but i guess liston had the ultimate power of a heavy weight boxer but didnt had that energy of a youngster who moved like a butterfly...sorry dude...i kow liston was great boxer but i know all these boxers with reference to Muhammad Ali....so i havent read much about him....

hahaha...yeah man....and knocked them all out....hahaha.....i keep telling u u seem to know alot about boxing.......BUHAHAHAHA....

aaah.....now i have similar thoughts...thats very true of ***** cat tom....(sorry..i know its very big cat though).....thats why they hated Ali....jack jhonson was a great boxer....busted all ***** he saw...hahaha

u see thats why i say u know more about boxing than me...he got the name hurricane hecoz he was a truly excellent boxer....so i take my words back....world has seen another great boxer....:-)

hmm..well!! he had a murder case to defend....but yes!! if u speak of his boxing record he started a little late but did made a strong impact in middle weight category....had he not got into that tripple murder scene, probably world would have seen another true braveheart boxer....

yes...though ali never had the same speed but he used his extreme will power and his psychological tactics well to the same effect...he fought his 3 fights with frazier after those 3 years...Ken Norton and Earnir Shavers were the guys of his time who cud eat up todays heavyweights....even Mike Tyson i think....I like the balboa character for his fighting will...

yeah man...may be u r right......wht u think of klitschko...(i dont think i hv speeled it right....:-))....anyways at 38 Ali had got retired almost.....isnt theres a difference between the standards of boxers.....I mwan a boxer of Ali's heart and physical fitness cudnt continue after 38 i think...how come these boxers are still winning world championships...another example is larry holmes..mike tyson...George foreman may be an exception...

hey dude....is that a compliment or somethin else....well....looks like u know alot abt boxing than me...i loved Muhammad Ali (although when he was retiring i was born...)and liked all boxers of his era....they all had some charisma.....

may be u r right...only thing which makes me sad about boxing is it hasnt produced another Ali or Smokin joe....or Rocky Marciano....I dont even know all the heavy weights these days but I do know Boxers of 70S and 80S, somewht....another sad thing is that I havent boxed otherwise I wudnt have got sad in the first place....hahaha

oh yeah man....the dude from philipines...he sure has got heart man.....performances like those of him may bring the golden days of boxing back like those of Muhammad Ali, Frazier, Foreman and many others of the Golden Era....Pacman is good...rpobably boxing is changing...from heavyweights boxing matches it is switching to fast, lightweight categories which get more attention of people, i think...:-)....mayweather jr is another example...

haha....stallone is probably short but has got a big heart....thanks God they didnt let u perform the haka..its intimidating dude.....just like boxing...haha

aha...martin crowe, stephen fleming, shane bond,Brendon Mcculum, daniel vettori, chris harris..home of these guys....i think teams havent found any reply to ur haka before a rugby match...haha....one thing i like about about new zelanders and austrailians is that they are so physicaly fit..i wish our people understood it.......btw, dude, i do not look like that boxer balboa..but i do like that boxer balboa...haha..stallone is an honest hardworking tough dude..

haha....no man...i am not that guy ..haha....where u from and how come u hv dp of boxer??

oh they do that too..than they are our brothers...well...i am south asian...big region...haha

dude...i am not from usa...what made u guess that??if u r from usa...how come u love cricket...its not their game..

no buddy, i usually listen songs only by accident, just like a bouncer..u have to deal with them somehow...though its fun dealing with them....haha...but if u talk of crickets songs, best was i guess that of worldcup 92...

hahaha....what u dont know is, in our part of the world of cricket, not everyone plays with the hard cricket ball. We use tennis balls and tape it with the electric tape. (probably u know it). it becomes very fast and if u play on grass, than man, u can break lot of Dennis Lille's and Charlie Griffith's records. And what I have written is true but it is with the taped ball, which is generally used here.

haha....i remember taking 5 wickets twice and once 4 in an over but thats almost 10 years ago. this story however is not that old...only 5 years....:-)

fast bowler....and to play big shots only as batsman..
