I Love Superheroes
Prologue: Still not yet complete but the general idea of what's going on is there.
Too many people figured that mafias were only existed in the 1920s and 30s during the times of prohibition, Tommy Guns, and easily corrupted governments. What those many people fail to realize behind their closed, perfect lives is that the true threat of mafias and underground crime organization never went away, just merely hid in the shadows, waiting for their time to shine once again. Among those families leading the way secretly controlling governments and worlds behind the scenes until they can finally step back out into the open is the Whelan Family, a relatively new family in the world of crime started in the mid to late 1950s, only to quickly seize the spot as the world’s number one crime family.
Born in 1935, Tracy Morgan, the son two Irish immigrants, grew up in a world full of hate and war. Raised in the slums of Boston as his parents worked multiple jobs struggling to make ends meet, Tracy saw nothing but the importance of power and strength in order to be able to live a life of luxury. As he grew up, watching those around him take and steal to satisfy their needs in life, Tracy began studying their techniques and tricks as well as following the events of World War II learning the art of fighting and tactics with large numbers of people.
By the time he reached 20 Tracy was a master in deception, combat, and the ability to control and guide a large group of people, having pulled off a numerous amount of high paying jobs with his fellow ten siblings and friends, the birth of a new family born, feared by all who knew of them. After the death of his parents in the early 1950s, Tracy was free to do whatever he pleased, using the money gained by his 20th birthday to buy a new house as well as purchase a small share in a large steel company, which eventually fell under his possession after a number of successful deals and moves.
By the early 1960s Tracy and the Whelan family were well under way, and quickly moving to the top of the underground crime world. Worried about a becoming a target off many other crime families as well as the government, Tracy had two children with his long time- childhood girlfriend to succeed him in case of his death. Patrick his eldest son was short brown hair, green eyed man, both tall and wide alike. Though strong as an ox and as smart as his father, he had a trait that many people in his line of work wished to avoid, compassion, a desire to always do what is morally right rather than what it took to succeed. His second son, Mark, was essentially the opposite of his elder brother Patrick. Though, tall, and strong like his brother, with the same green eyes, Mark was much more cunning, like a fox as many people in the family said, one not to be trusted, who was skinny and muscular, with short black hair, and had the personality of a stone cold killer, doing whatever it took to achieve his goals, no matter what, or who the cost.
Growing up the differences and rivalry between the two brothers could easily be seen. Though Mark always accomplished his goals and tasks set out to him by his father, his willing to do everything attitude often led to him being overlooked by his brother, though who didn’t succeed in all his operations always was able to come back saving the lives of his family rather than sacrifice them for a small success. By the time Mark became 18, it was clear that his father would have Patrick succeed him as the head of the family when his time came. Feeling betrayed, and wronged after doing everything his father had asked him, Mark took his destiny into his own hands. Going out for a drink with his brother, one late night, on the way home they were jumped by a group of thugs, all wielding weapons. As if it was second nature, Patrick with the help of his brother successfully held off the gunmen, Mark having only received a small scratch in the process. Standing over the group of thugs victorious, with his back turned, Mark lifted a gun from a thug, quickly placing a bullet in the back of his brother’s head, along with two more in his back. As his brother’s lifeless body fell to the cold, bloodstained cement sidewalk, Mark smiled as he cleaned his prints off the weapon, placing it back in the hand of a fallen thug, before taking off back to the safety of his house.
With his brother now out of the picture, all that stood between Mark and control of the family he so longed to desire to control from birth was his aging father Tracy. Though willing to let time run its course at first, as Tracy approached his 51st birthday signs of aging and weakness both beginning to make themselves present, Mark began to feel that it was finally his time to rise to power, his father feeling different. After months of constant arguing and bickering, Tracy feeling as if Mark was still way to immature and young to run the family, fortune blessed Mark as his father passed away in his sleep, giving way to the reign of Mark Whelan.
Taking a couple of notes from his father, Mark began to pursue the addition of a company of his own for extra revenue as well as a wife for his own successors. It was then he learned about Will Daly and his daughter Stacy Daly, the owner and eventual inherent of Daly Industries, a rich, big, privately owned Oil Company. With the opportunity of two birds being able to be taken out with one stone, Mark knew he could not miss his chance. After happening to meet Will Daly at a private dinner party, it was then that Mark was introduced to the lovely Stacy, a tall, long legged, dirty blonde haired, hourglass figure, blue eyed girl, with a heart of gold and a soul as pure as the time it first was first born into the world. Working his charm, Mark quickly earned a date with the beautiful girl that evolved into a relationship and marriage after 3 long, love filled years.
One day, after a long meeting with Will, about the future of his company should anything to happen to him, Will began to drive home in his limo, only for the unimaginable to happen, his car suddenly exploding, and the reasons why never discovered. As left down in his will, Will left the ownership to his daughter which was signed over to Mark a year later into their marriage after the conception of their first son. With seemingly everything going right between the two, Stacy soon discovered that the wonderful image painted around her beloved husband was that of a mirage filled off trickery and death. After building up curiosity wondering about Mark’s plentiful secret meetings and late nights, she could no longer held her wandering mind, snooping around discovering the painful truth revolving around her husband, that of a stone-cold killer leading the world’s most powerful crime family.
It was then when everything came to light. Their chance meeting at the private dinner party, the death of her father, the signing over of her company, she was just a part of the scheme but before she could get out, Mark caught her. With his truth exposed, he no longer needed to put on his fake nice guy act in front of her, instead leaving her to do his bidding, that of having kids. In total Stacy was forced to conceive three of his kids, Shane, Alastair, and Kelsey. Though wanting so bad to end her live an escape the horrible nightmare she was in, through the lives of two of her kids was she able to live on, hoping for escape and a new life.
The eldest of the three Whelan children was Shane Whelan, a near spitting image of his father, except taller and stronger, but lacking the sheer cunningness and wit needed to operate on his own as a leader. Though lacking mentally he more than made up physically proving to be Mark’s perfect machine, doing everything his father ordered him to do to pinpoint accuracy. He could fight, shoot, kill, etc. anything he was asked he achieved, never asking questions or showing compassion….except for his mother and siblings. Though doing everything Mark asked of him, when it came to harming and punishing his family, he acted in a slower gear, struggling with himself to carry out his father’s orders or harm those he truly loved, always losing the battle he so longed to win.
Born last was the youngest of the three Whelan children, Kelsey Whelan. Just as her oldest brother she was a near spitting image of one of her parents, her mother, except slightly taller. Born with the same heart of gold always willing to do anything for those she loved or cared about, her soul was tainted by the desire to seriously injure Mark, sometimes wanting to kill him. Growing up she was always in the care of her mother, unfortunately witnessing more than the other two of the three children, the beating of her beloved mother at the hands of Mark and occasionally Shane when not doing as told. Witnessing the horrific events as she grew up, she trained, becoming athletically gifted and being taught to an extent by the man she so truly idolized, her brother Alastair.
Born in the middle of the trio of siblings was the rebellious, good hearted nature of Alastair Whelan. Built like his father, sharing the same brain as well, Alastair contained features that made him hated from the day of his birth. Having short brown hair, and a soul filled of compassion for those he loved or saw innocent, Alastair was nothing but a constant reminder of Patrick, the recipient of the first truly sinful act of Mark. Through him Kelsey and their mother Stacy held out hope. From the time he was old enough to walk and talk it seemed Alastair always had it out for Mark and vice-versa, both constantly battling throughout Alastair’s upbringing in both mental and physical battles, Alastair seemingly on a pace for those skills much faster than Mark, predictably surpassing him in time. Seeing him as a threat, Mark desired nothing more than to take out his son, but he never could. Never before or again could he use such a valuable skillset, let alone let it go to waste. Deciding to deal with it, Mark milked Alastair for all that he was worth, putting up with his rebellious behavior with extreme punishment beatings, each one only making Alastair stronger, building up his rage further, the true impact unbeknownst to Mark.
