Honor Killings

I read the book "Daughters of Shame" by Jasvinder Sanghera one summer and what I learned from that book was absolutely appalling. Basically, the book tells stories of victims of honor killings and debunks the myths that honor killings happen for religious reasons (despite the fact that all religions in the region condemn honor killings), and the fact that only females can be victims of honor killings. It explores the culture(s) that allow honor killings and explains why they occur. It is truly an excellent book and I really recommend it to anyone who wants to learn more about the issue.
